Soccer superstar Lionel Messi cemented Argentina's status as a national hero this year when he won the World Cup. There have also been various ways to pay tribute to Messi across the country, but one Argentinian farmer has gone the craziest of them all, planting a 124-acre elaborate corn field with Messi's image.
The farmer was identified as Maximiliano Spinazze. "Now that they are world champions, I am happy that I can pay tribute to them through my own expertise," he said. "When I calculated the amount of seed needed to plant a corn field by looking at the portrait of Macy with a beard, the hair and beard would be particularly high."
He also enlisted the help of agricultural engineer Carlos Faricelli to add a computer program to the planter. The machine knows how much seed is sown per square meter, ensuring that Messi's features are in contrast, giving the corn a more accurate image of Messi.
