Former major league stars Alex 'A-Rod' Rodriguez and Marc Lore joined the Wolves, and major owner Glen Taylor is expected to fade into the background in 2023. But the New York Post recently reported that Rodriguez's finances appeared to be in trouble following his split from actress Jennifer Lopez.
According to the New York Post, Lore and Rodriguez were supposed to own equal shares, but when it came time to make a down payment on the 20% stake in 2021, Rodriguez couldn't come up with the money and only got 7% of the 20%, while Lore got 13%. The report also said the pair were initially partnered in part because of Rodriguez's relationship with Jennifer Lopez.
The New York Post also quoted sources as saying that Rodriguez is no longer in demand among investors following his split from the equally expensive Jennifer Lopez. The report also said Rodriguez's lack of funds could prevent him and Lore from securing the Wolves' management rights as Taylor would still hold the largest stake.
