Japanese SLUGger Yu Darvish gave UP THREE RUNS IN FIVE INNINGS TO LEAD THE Dodgers to a 1-1 TIE IN THE NL DIVISION SERIES ON Sunday. But playing in the postseason at Dodger Stadium brought back bad memories of the 2017 World Series and the revolutionary feelings he had with Clayton Kershaw.
In Game 7 of the 2017 World Series, Yu Darvish, who was playing for the Dodgers at the time, was the starter, but he gave up five runs in 1.2 innings and the team lost 1:5. Yu DARVISH WAS BLOWN OUT BY THE ASTROS IN BOTH STARTS, CAUSING A BACKLASH AMONG DODGERS FANS, BUT THE ASTROS 'ELECTRONIC CHEATING SCANDAL LATER GAVE HIM SOME JUSTICE.
According TO THE Los Angeles TIMES, YU Darvish WALKED TO center FIELD ABOUT AN hour before THE Dodgers GAME AND took a KNEE. "I caused A lot of pain to MY family," HE SAID, RECALLING HIS LAST PLAYOFF GAME AT THE STADIUM. "I HOPE I CAN GO HOME WITH MY FAMILY HAPPY TODAY."
"After the 2017 playoffs, Kershaw protected me and my family, and it would be great to play against him in such a big game. It finally happened," said Yu Darvish, who got emotional when he saw his opponent Clayton Kershaw.
Yu Dabishu said Kershaw was the key to his recovery. "After a tough World Series loss, when I was painfully hungry for a championship, Kershaw reached out to me and even invited me to his home to work out during the offseason." Yu DarvISH ALSO SAID THAT THE three months of PLAYING WITH KerSHAW saw his toughness. "When he starts, he's really committed, he doesn't talk to anybody, and I can feel him putting a lot of pressure on himself when he pitches."
