76ers center Joel Embiid of the Eastern Conference and Nuggets center Nikola Jokic of the Western Conference won the NBA's Eastern and Western Conference Player of the month awards for the third year in a row.

The Sixers went 11-3 in January and jumped to third place in THE Eastern Conference. Ambiid's personal performance is a big part of that. He's averaging 34.9 points, 10.7 rebounds and 1.6 hot shots in a single month, and he's currently leading the league in scoring with 33.5 points per game this season.

The Nuggets went 12-4 in January, continuing to lead the Western Conference. Jokic is averaging 24.0 points, 11.6 rebounds and 11.3 assists per game this month and is averaging over $3 per game so far this season.

Both stars are the league's new generation of versatile longhorns, with Jokic edging out Ambiid for the MVP award for the second straight season. The two have also been on fire this year, having met on Jan. 29, when Ambiid scored 47 points, 18 rebounds and five assists to beat Jokic's 24 points, eight assists and nine assists.
