The Guardians officially announced on Tuesday that they have assigned one person to high Level 1A, the Wasabi who won all 50 mascot races this season. "It's not about how you start, it's about how you finish," Huang Wasabi responds to being informed with dismay. Vow to return to the big leagues.
The Guardian tidbit, sent in via an official press release, notes: "17-year-old Yellow Mustard has struggled in running this season and has not won any of his 50 home hot dog races this year. The willfully seasoned can will be sent to High 1A to work on his mentality and fitness to return to major league level. He is expected to report to High 1A on Monday and start running on Tuesday."
The Guardian has played 51 home races this year, including one in which the hot dog race was rained out, and ketchup and onion have won 25 each, with the exception of mustard.
"Today is a great day for haters," Mustard said. "I'm relegated to High Level 1A, so celebrate in the streets, but I only care about the people who stand by me."
When Yellow Wasabi was on a 48-game losing streak, local station WKYC's 3News did an interesting investigation into why he was so difficult to win, only to see him sent down a few days later. The club said it made the decision after internal discussions and believed it was in the best interests of the team.
