The Denver Nuggets beat the Los Angeles Lakers 119-108 in Game 3 of the Western Conference finals of the NBA playoffs on Sunday. After scoring 37 points in the second straight game, guard Jamal Murray said, "Win five more games."
Murray, the 26-year-old Golden Nuggets guard, returned to the court after missing the 2021-22 season with a left knee injury, and his postseason performance is attracting attention again.
The Nuggets entered the Lakers' home stadium with a two-game winning streak, and Murray continued his streak. He scored 23 points in Game 2 and 17 on 8-for-10 shooting in the first quarter, giving him 40 points in two quarters, the most points in a playoff game in 25 years, according to ESPN Stats & Info.
Murray also joined Devin Booker and Allen Iverson on Monday as the third player since 1997 to score 30 points in a half in a playoff game against the Lakers.
Murray finished with 37 points, seven rebounds, six assists and two steals as the Golden Nuggets won 119-108 to clinch their third straight win in the best-of-seven series, one win away from a ticket to the championship.
