Nikola Jokic showed his MVP performance against the Heat on Friday, scoring 27 points, rebounds and eight assists on 12-of-14 shooting and not a single turnover in a 112-108 road win.
Jokic recorded only the second time in history he had at least 25 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and zero turnovers on 85 percent shooting.
The NUGGETS had a shaky FIRST QUARTER, but were OUTSCORED 38:26 IN THE SECOND BEFORE GOING into HALFTIME 65:62. The Nuggets held the lead for most of the second half, and although the Heat got within three points in the final minute, the Nuggets held on for the win.
"I think we like to PLAY FOR EACH OTHER," JokIC SAID AFTER THE GAME. "We try TO FIND guys WHO are undefended and try to CREATE THE best shot." "The WHOLE TEAM AGREES AND THAT'S WHY WE HAVE SO MANY ASSISTS.
"He's a two-time MVP," said Bam Adebayo. "The most important thing in defense is not to give him space, but that's the most difficult part because he's so good technically and he can pass the ball."
The Nuggets won six of their last eight games, becoming the second team in the league after the Celtics to win 40th. According to statistics, this is the first time the Nuggets have won 40 games before the stars.
In the other game, the Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson (Jalen Brunson) on the 13th scored 40 points, leading the team to beat the Nets 124-106. It was Nick's first win over the Nets since Jan. 26, 2020, ending a nine-game losing streak. Nick was 0-15 against Ben Simmons' team. Now, with the Nets losing power, finally broke this embarrassing record.
"Give them credit," Bronson said of finally beating the Nets. "They've been great for the last couple of years and they played well tonight, but we had the second half and turned it around a little bit and got the win."
