American tennis legend Serena Williams tearfully thanked her family and fans for their support after she lost to Australian Ajla Tomljanovic in the last 32 of the US Open today, defying speculation that this year's tournament could be her last. Especially her older sister, Venus Williams.

Williams, who turns 41 this month, broke down in tears as she thanked her family and fans after losing 5-7, 7-6 (7-4), 1-6 to Tom Inovich in the round of 32 today to end her 21st career at the US Open.

Little William said: "Oh my god, really thank you very much, you really great, today I've tried, but Tom ino Vicky today performance better. Thanks, dad, I know what are you looking at, thanks, mom, I want to thank each and every one around me, over the years, it all started with my parents, they should get all this, I really thank them. These ARE HAPPY TEARS. If IT were NOT FOR Venus, I would NOT BE LITTLE William, SO I THANK YOU Venus, SHE IS THE ONLY REASON THAT LITTLE William EXISTS."
