Tennis legend Roger Federer, who is preparing to play his final match, posted a selfie of himself with Spanish player Rafael Nadal, Serbian tennis star Aleksandar Jokovic and former British tennis player Murray on social media today, which has attracted more than 1.7 million likes.

As tennis legend Serena Williams fights for what could be her career farewell at the U.S. Open three weeks ago, Roger Federer is just as focused as everyone else, Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) reported.

"No surprise, similar to me in a lot of ways," Federer said. "We all expected it to happen sooner or later... You never even want a player like Serena to retire... I just thought, 'What a fantastic career.'"

He also acknowledged that the back-to-back retirements of two of the biggest stars in the game for about a quarter of a century would turn some fans off, but he was adamant that there would still be many loyal viewers.

"Going to dinner with some friends," Federer said in an Instagram post today. The post included a selfie of him with Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray in London's Thames River.

Once dubbed the 'four Kings' of tennis, the star-studded photo shows all four sporting a gentlemanly look in dark suits, white shirts and bow ties against London's brightly lit Tower Bridge at night.
