"We are Bruce Lee: the exhibition "We Are Bruce Lee: Under the Sky, One Family" opened to the public on Tuesday at The Chinese Historical Society of America in San Francisco's Chinatown. The exhibition, the first since the society was forced to close due to the pandemic, focuses on Bruce Lee's unique side beyond his martial arts and performances.

Lee's daughter Shannon Lee, who attended the exhibition, said: "He is a bridge that connects people, and that's what the Bruce Lee Foundation wants to encourage people to do, to keep his spirit alive."

The exhibition, a collaboration between the Bruce Lee Foundation, top collectors of Bruce Lee artifacts and a team of innovative artists, shows how an ethnic Chinese star broke through geographical, racial and cultural barriers to become an international superstar.

Yang Tianyu, a martial arts fan, said, "When I was young, I knew Bruce Lee from movies, the Big Brother of Tangshan, the Game of Death, etc. When I grew up, I also came into contact with martial arts and learned about Jeet Kune Do founded by him, which gave me a new understanding of the application of Chinese martial arts in actual combat. Bruce Lee has always been the idol that makes us Chinese martial arts lovers look up to mountains!"

Allen Liu, a Chinatown resident, said Bruce Lee, who grew up in Chinatown, used his strength to create a world in the mainstream Western culture and won respect for the Chinese with his superb level. His influence on the world is huge, "Mr. Xiao Long is not only an actor, a martial artist, but also a philosopher, a cultural symbol and symbol. He is a bridge between us Chinese and Western mainstream culture!"
