The Yankees beat the Padres 4-2 on Sunday to win the Division Series, 2-2. Ace Gerrit Cole gave up two runs in seven innings and responded with a sneer: "Cute!" after Josh Naylor snapped a baby.

The Defender took the lead in the best-of-five series. Cole led the Yankees to a 3-0 run on Sunday, giving up a run in the third inning on a single by Jose Ramirez and a shutout by Kneller in the fourth.

Naylor's celebration after the opening shot was extremely provocative, holding a baby as he rounded the bases, and apparently heading toward the mound. The "You're my son" and "I'm your dad" choked heavily, and in fact, the action was somewhat monkey-like.

Asked after the game if he had seen Naylor's celebration, Kerr first sneered and responded with apparent disrespect, "Yeah! Whatever that means, it's cute." He said he didn't see it right away, so he wasn't affected, and when he saw it later he was just amused.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone also said they had no intention of getting involved in the dispute and were only interested in winning.
