The 57th Super Bowl championship game kicks off at 6:30 p.m. Et on Sunday, and even those who don't get tickets in advance can still buy them hours before the big game starts, and perhaps save thousands of dollars by buying late.
According to VividSeats, the median ticket price for this year's Super Bowl, which hit 9,100 yuan on Jan. 23, had fallen to 5,500 yuan by Feb. 10, with the cheapest base ticket dropping from nearly 5,000 yuan to just over 3,000 yuan. As the game approached, ticket prices seemed to be on a downward trend, with some tickets falling below 3,000 yuan on the 12th morning.
A large number of resale tickets were still available on major ticket sales websites in the United States on Tuesday morning, with tickets for the highest grandstand (the farthest distance from the stadium) going for about 3,000 yuan, while those closer to the stadium were charging more than 6,000 yuan.
Super Bowl ticket prices have fallen sharply over the past two years but remain well above levels seen in the 2010s, according to VividSeats data.
The average ticket price for the Super Bowl fell to 6,024 yuan, slightly lower than last year, the data said. The average ticket price for the 2021 Super Bowl, which featured NFL legend Tom Brady for the last time, was nearly $9,500.
The average Super Bowl ticket price rose steadily every year from 2013 to 2019, from 2,500 yuan to just over 4,000 yuan, to nearly 5,700 yuan in 2020.
