According to the latest news, the Haas team has decided to terminate the contract of 23-year-old Mick Schumacher after his disappointing performance, temporarily ending his two-year F1 career and failing to inherit his father's glory.

"We would like to thank Schumacher Jr for his contribution to the team over the last few years. His racing pedigree is well known and he has continued to grow and develop as a driver during his time at Haas F1. Having chosen to take a different direction for the future, the whole team wishes him all the best for his next career move," the team statement said.

"I do not want to hide the fact that I am very disappointed with the decision not to renew my contract. However, I would like to thank Haas F1 and Ferrari for giving me this opportunity."

Schumacher is 16th in the drivers' standings this season and has won only two races, for a total of 12 points. The only remaining F1 season is the ABU Dhabi Grand Prix.
