Japan's World Baseball Classic (WBC) team has received a strong boost, as Angels' Shohei Otani confirmed his participation. He said on his personal IG today that he has informed his manager Hideki Kuriyama that he is willing to play in the Classic next year.
"I discussed with Kuriyama this season whether to play in the Classic or not, and I have officially decided to play in the WBC next year," Ohtani said through IG.
"I'm looking forward to the opportunity." "I can compete with the best players from all over the world, and I am looking forward to playing in front of Japanese fans again after five years," said Otani.
Otani also thanked ALL the fans for their support this year. Although the result was not very satisfactory, it was still a season to enjoy baseball. I hope the fans will continue to support next season.
