Football/Saudi Arabia Bid A Record 330 Million Yuan For Mbappe

Saudi Arabian team Hilal offered a record 300 million euros ($330 million) transfer fee to France's Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) on Monday in the hope of securing star French striker Kylian Mbappe after losing out on Argentine superstar Lionel Messi.

The Central News Agency quoted the Associated Press as reporting that Mbappe's team Paris Saint-Germain confirmed that Hilal had made a transfer offer for Mbappe and had now allowed Hilal to negotiate directly with Mbappe.

If a deal is reached, Mbappe will join Portuguese football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in also playing in Saudi Arabia. "Ronaldo" currently plays for Saudi giant team Ainas.

The transfer fee offered by Hilal would make Mbappe the most expensive footballer in history, surpassing PSG's previous record of $262 million set in 2017. That year PSG paid Barcelona the same amount to sign Brazilian soccer star Neymar.
