Tennis/Joshuai Wants To Rest After Wimbledon Defeat And Withdraw From Toronto Open

Serbia's Novak Djokovic has pulled out of the Toronto Masters at the last minute to rest after a five-set defeat in the Wimbledon final.

The Toronto Masters is the only ATP Tour event to be held in Canada and the 36-year-old Wimbledon had been due to prepare for the North American hardcourt schedule but decided to pull out.

"I always enjoy my time in Canada, but after discussing it with the team, we believe this is the right decision." The four-time champion also thanked tournament director Karl Hale for understanding his decision: "I really hope to return to Canada and Toronto and perform in front of the fans."
