The Warriors lost 112-119 in the final match of the warm-up match on the 14th, but in addition to the results, everyone is more concerned about Draymond Green's return after the boxing storm, and Klay Thompson's (Klay Thompson) debut.
Jordan Poole hugged Green when he entered the court before the game, seemingly turning the battle into a friendship, and the pair matched on the court without abnormality. Thompson, on his debut, was equally impressive, scoring 17 points, including five 3-pointers, in just 16 minutes in the first half. Jonathan Kuminga added 19 points and James Wiseman added 15 points.
"The Athletic" Warriors reporter Anthony Slater recently talked about how the Warriors' future salary structure will determine whether to keep or not, and Green was one of the topics discussed.
"The Warriors have to get rid of about, maybe a few years ago I would have said Andrew Wiggins, but he's made himself a part of the future," he said. "With what happened this week, when you start looking at Green's future and his outside options, the Lakers are certainly one of them."
"He's a Klutch Sports client, he's got Rich Paul as his agent," he added. "The Lakers are getting out of the Russell Westbrook contract, they have room to give him a reasonable price, and they have to be seen as a threat." However, Slater also added that it is not so ideal to talk about the match on the court.
"With him playing LeBron James and Anthony Davis, there's definitely room to play. Kyrie Irving is better suited to me as a shooting guard," Slater said. Green is under contract until 2024, but he can jump out early in the summer of 2023.
