MLB/Overseas Chinese Launch Taiwan Day Lieu Wearing A Taiwan T-shirt Surprise Appearance At Dodger Stadium

More than 500 people wearing Taiwanese T-shirts were invited to watch a professional baseball game at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles on Sunday. Congressman Ted Lieu was there to support it.
Ted Lieu, a Taiwan-born, American-raised Congressman, shared a photo of his appearance at the "Taiwan Day" event on his Twitter account (now renamed X), which has 1.6 million followers. Sitting next to him was Ji Qinyao, director of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Los Angeles.
The "Taiwan Day" activity initiated by overseas Chinese has the participation of a number of associations, the former professional baseball brother elephant player and baseball coach Dai Yucheng is the initiator, and the main sponsors are Hello Taiwan, Green Maple Law Group, Yimei Food Group, Hanlin Teahouse, and Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee member Zhang Peiluan.
Participating in the "Taiwan Day" in the outfield audience, wearing blue T-shirts with Chinese and English words Taiwan, watched the game between the landlord Dodgers and the Milwaukee Brewers, the Dodgers won the final game 6-2.
Chang Peiluan, chairwoman of Hello Taiwan, an overseas pro-Taiwan group, said the presence of Congressman Ted Lieu was a big surprise. Lieu, with his two sons, wore a Taiwan T-shirt, and expatriates and fans saw the Congressman in the stands and asked for a photo.
Ms. Chang said Hello Taiwan organized the event to deepen exchanges between Taiwan and the United States and promote Taiwan through baseball games. The invitation to Taiwanese-American Congressman Lieu Yun-ping to watch the game with Taiwanese overseas Chinese also represents that the United States' support for Taiwan has gone deep into the Congress.
