Soccer/Lionel Messi Leads Argentina's Men's Team in A Friendly in Beijing During His June Visit

Argentina's men's soccer team will kick off its 2023 Asian Tour in June and play a friendly match against Australia in Beijing, China, on June 15, the Argentine Football Association (AFA) said on Tuesday. Argentina's Lionel Messi is expected to lead the team.

The tour will be Argentina's first match abroad since winning the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The Argentine Football Association has scheduled two matches on the Asian tour, including a friendly against Indonesia in Jakarta on June 19, in addition to a match against Australia in Beijing.

According to the Beijing Football Association, the match between Argentina and Australia will be held at 8:00 PM local time on June 15 at the Workers' Stadium in Beijing. Argentina will also visit China for the World Cup with the main team that won the World Cup. This will be Messi's seventh trip to China, after his last visit in 2017.

In addition, China's schedule for the warm-up tournament in June has already been finalized. Earlier, the Chinese Football Association announced that the national Football team will play Myanmar and Palestine respectively in Dalian on June 16 and 20.
