The Padres scored five runs in seven innings to beat the Dodgers 5-3 in Game 4 of the NL Division Series on Sunday, making it 3-1 in the NL championship game and ending the postseason run of the Dodgers, the major League's dominant team this season, in just five days.

The Dodgers' 111-win season is the best in the major leagues, leading the Padres by 22 wins and 14-5 in 19 games. However, after winning the opening game of the Division Series, the Dodgers are sure to pack up their second World Series title in three years and eighth in franchise history.

The Padres have never WON THE WORLD Series and won the NL PENNANT in 1984 and 98. After eliminating the Dodgers today, the Padres will face the Philadelphia Phillies in the NL Championship Series on Sunday.

The Dodgers got the ball rolling in the third inning when Mookie Betts drew a walk and Trea Turner and Freddie Freeman hit back-to-back doubles for a 2-0 lead.

After THE TEAMS PLAYED THE FIRST SIX INNINGS, THE DODGERS GOT GOING AGAIN IN THE SEVENTH, WITH BAEZ ADVANCING TO SECOND BASE ON A WALK, Turner BUNTING AN INFIELD SINGLE, AND Smith SCORING THE TEAM'S THIRD RUN ON A SACRIFICE FLY.

The Padres held on for six innings before rallying in the seventh. Jurickson Profar drew a walk and Trent Grisham, Austin Nola, Ha Sung Kim and Juan Soto had consecutive hits to tie the game at 3: Tied at 3, two outs later, Jake Cronenworth had a two-run hit and a two-run lead to maintain the advantage until the end of the game.

The Astros (106 wins) are the only one of the four major League teams to advance to the League Championship Series, where they will play the winning team of the Yankees and the Rangers. The Dodgers and Braves (101 wins) were eliminated on Monday, and the Mets (101 wins) were eliminated in the wild card Series, making the NL Championship Series a two-team wild card race.
