NBA star LeBron James is set to expand his empire again, this time with an investment in famed Italian soccer club AC Milan.
The Financial Times reported that the Steinbrenner family, owner of the New York Yankees, would buy AC Milan for 1.2 billion euros with a Los Angeles investment team that includes James and Drake.
James, along with Fenway Sports Group, the company behind the Red Sox, bought a stake in English Premier League club Liverpool in 2011 for a reported $6.5 million, which rose to $70 million a decade later.
Blaze Pizza, a new fast food Pizza chain that James invested in, was named by Forbes as the fastest expanding restaurant chain in the US in recent years and earned him $50 million.
James, who often runs his off-court business with an eye for precision, funded Blaze Pizza for less than $1 million in 2012, taking a roughly 10% stake in the restaurant chain, which has expanded rapidly to a market value of $250 million in just five years.
